I have worked hard over the last 20 years protecting the public. I have assisted in many investigations to include violent and homicide cases. I have investigated and assisted in over 1000 cases and presented findings in court numerous times. The below biography provides some additional quick information about me.

Sergeant Finnimore began his law enforcement career in 1994 as a Delaware River & Bay Authority (DRBA) Patrol Officer. After graduating from the 21st New Castle County Recruit Training Class in Delaware, he worked with bi-state authority between New Jersey and the First State. Duties at the Delaware Memorial Bridge and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry ranged from public relations details to highway drug and criminal interdiction. Officers at the DRBA became experts at all forms of highway interdiction, speed enforcement techniques, and accident investigation. During his time at the the DRBA, Sergeant Finnimore earned various commendations and letters of appreciation for his work. In 1997, Sergeant Finnimore accepted a position as a Township of Franklin Patrol Officer in New Jersey. Along with his typical patrol duties, he worked as a community policing officer hosting Town Watch Programs, teaching the Drug Abuse Resistence Education (D.A.R.E. ) Program, and mentoring a teen volunteer program. During his short three-and-a- half years of work in Franklin Township he was awarded a Unit Citation Medal, a Distinguished Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a Superior Education Medal, an award from the National Leukemia Society, multiple awards for distinguished service to the local school districts, multiple letters of commendation for his work in the community, and was honored as “Officer of the Year” by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Franklin Township. In 2000 Sergeant Finnimore accepted an offer to become a Detective with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey. He worked for a year in the Career Criminal Prosecution Litigation Unit until he was transferred to the Forensic Crime Scene Unit where he remains today. He conducts forensic support functions in the office to include scene examinations for police involved shootings and homicides. He also provides support and guidance for other investigations as needed. He has been awarded multiple commendations to include a Unit Citation Medal for his work on homicide cases, a Distinguished Service Medal, and the Medal of Valor for an officer involved shooting incident. He has testified as an expert in the Superior Court of New Jersey in fingerprint collection and evaluation, fingerprint identification, forensic crime scene examination, bloodstain pattern analysis, post-mortem interval of death determination, and crime scene reconstruction. Sergeant Finnimore is a certified physical fitness instructor and a certified officer survival instructor. He has supervised the Forensic Crime Scene Unit since 2011. He has instructed other law enforcement officers in crime scene investigation, fingerprinting, evidence collection and packaging, sexual assault investigation, and photography. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Forensics Program at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and works with interns from the college on an ongoing basis. Sergeant Finnimore earned his four year college degree from Kean University in Political Science in 1991, his Master’s Degree in Public Relations from Rowan University in 1999, and his Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Innovation in Education from Wilmington University in 2005.
