Present Assignment:
Assigned to Atlantic County ProsecutorŐs Office
Major Crimes Section as the Sergeant in charge of the Forensic Crime Scene Unit
performing forensics on homicides and other serious cases. Duties include documentation,
investigation, collection, preservation, and processing of evidence and the
supervision of all forensic cases and crime scenes. Further duties include
evidence examination and scene reconstruction, computer diagramming, printing
traditional 35mm and digital photographs, facilitation between the unit and
laboratories, and digital fingerprint processing and identification. I also provide expert testimony in
Superior Court and generate expert opinion reports for various cases when
needed.
Previous Assignments:
**(10/00- 06-02) Atlantic County ProsecutorŐs
Office, 4997 Unami Boulevard, Mays Landing, New Jersey 08330. Previously assigned as an investigator
in litigation where I worked with the Chief Assistant Career Criminal
Prosecutor investigating post-indictment crimes including homicides,
car-jackings, shootings, and other serious crimes. I was also on-call with the Major Crime
Squad for forensics at homicide scenes on a part-time basis.
**(04/97 – 10/00) Franklin Township Police
Department, 1571 South Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08322. I was
assigned to the community-policing unit working with the patrol and detective
divisions including investigating crimes, accidents, quality of life issues,
enforcing motor vehicle laws and responding to various crimes and crime scenes.
**(01/94 – 04/97) Delaware River and Bay
Authority Police Department, Delaware Memorial Bridge, P.O. Box 71 New
Castle, DE 19720. I worked as a Highway Patrol Officer at the Delaware Memorial
Bridge and Cape May - Lewes Ferry. Duties included traffic enforcement, drug
interdiction, accident investigation, and criminal investigation.
Prior to Law Enforcement:
Prior to working as a sworn
law enforcement officer I worked as a security
specialist and manager for Borg Warner Protective Services
(Burns Security).
I
worked as a night inspector managing over 20 full and part-time security
details
in southern New Jersey.
I was promoted to Client Service Manager where I
ran day-to-day operations in Philadelphia for over 30 full
and part-time
security details including physical structure and asset
security.
Crime Scene Investigation
Experience:
I have conducted or
assisted in over 1000 criminal investigations such as: homicides, assaults,
robberies, burglary and theft investigations, suicides, unattended or
suspicious deaths, auto thefts, fraud cases, narcotic and weapons cases, fatal
motor vehicle accidents, domestic violence cases, and internal affairs
investigations. I have examined hundreds of latent and inked finger and palm
print impressions and have made over 100 finger comparison
identifications. I have taken and
developed thousands of black and white, color, and digital photographs. I have
testified as an expert in latent fingerprint examination, recovery, and
evaluation in New Jersey Superior Court multiple times. I have also testified as an expert in forensic crime scene
investigation, crime scene reconstruction bloodstain pattern analysis, and
post-mortem interval of death determination on multiple occasions (see
expert testimony below).
